Engineered Wood Products

Engineered wood products (EWPs) are a staple of the building world. EWP is made by binding pieces of real wood, scrap wood, shredded wood fibers, and sawdust with adhesives and additives to create products that look and act like wood but are designed to provide a cost-effective solid wood substitute. Engineered wood products are sustainable, stronger than solid lumber, offer predictable performance, and meet size requirements that are hard to find in nature.

Boyce Lumber & Design Center has the EWP you need for your next building project. Plus, our in-house experts have software to help you specify individual framing members, create cut lists, manage performance, and even help you design a complete structural frame.

I-Joists

I-Joists are used in floor and wood construction. I-joists were designed to eliminate problems that occur with conventional wood joists like warping, twisting, and shrinking. They also have the added benefits of being simple to install and lightweight. Learn more about the I-Joists we carry by clicking the links below.

Trusses

Trusses support your roof while tying the outside walls of your house together, so they’re definitely an essential part of the building process! We source our trusses locally from High Mountain Truss. Click on the link below to learn about them.

Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL)

LSL is a sustainable and versatile wood framing solution used in residential and commercial construction. LSL is free of knots and is less likely than conventional lumber to twist, warp or split.  Learn more about the benefits of LSL by clicking on the link below.

Parallel Strand Lumber (PSL)

PSL can withstand substantial heavy loads and is typically used in construction for girders to support headers, columns, and beams. In fact, PSL beams are known as one of the strongest beams available. We’re proud to supply our customers with PARALLAM® PSL. Click on the link below to learn more.

Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)

LVL is typically used for headers, beams and rim boards. It’s stronger, straighter, and more uniform than conventional lumber. Learn more about the uses for this versatile product by clicking on the link below.

Glulam Beams

Glulam Beams are engineered to meet a range of design stresses. They can be manufactured in a wide range of shapes, sizes and configurations. Glulam beams are cost-effective and widely used in the construction world. Rosboro X-Beam™ is Boyce Lumber’s go-to glulam beam. Click on the link below to learn more.
